For the past seven years, I have been working to improve the state of public education here in DC. I started out as a high school math and AP Computer Science teacher in ward seven, then a founding seventh-grade middle school math teacher in ward eight.
Since 2010, I have been with KIPP DC where I am currently the Director of Innovation and Instructional Technology. Our team manages KIPP DC's innovation strategy, administers a multi-million dollar operational and grant budget, and provides coaching services that directly support our sixteen schools, their teachers, principals and students. I consider myself to be both an innovative thought leader and a consensus builder. If you ask the people I work with about me, the first things they would likely tell you is that I know how to get things done and that I put all of my energy in to whatever I do.
In November 2014, I was elected to represent my 2,000 neighbors as Advisory Neighborhood Commissioner for single-member district 5D03.
